Illini Tech Center Terms and Conditions
Store Return Policy
Your original receipt is required for all returns, exchanges and warranty repair services. All returns and exchanges must be in original condition and include all packaging and accessories. Illini Tech Center reserves the right to request identification and to deny any return.
7-day Return Period:
We accept returns or exchanges seven calendar days from the original purchase. Please review the exceptions below.
Non-Returnable Items:
Non-returnable items include labor and/or installation services, opened software, consumable items such as iTunes prepaid music cards, or items that are damaged or abused. Open box batteries and power supplies are also non-returnable unless defective.
Open Box Returns:
Opened box items cannot be returned for a refund or product exchange without store manager approval. Open items that may be eligible for exchanges include but are not limited to items that are inoperable upon first use or otherwise defective within the first seven days of original purchase date. Illini Tech Center may refer customers with defective products directly to Apple’s manufacturer warranty.
Restock Fee:
Non-Defective items valuing over $100 will be charged a 10% restock fee if returned open box or with damaged packaging.
Non-Apple Branded/Third Party Products:
If you discover what you believe is a product defect for any third-party product please contact the manufacturer directly for information regarding the manufacturers’ standard warranties.
Refund Method:
Refund will be in the same form as original purchase, i.e. cash cannot be given on a return for a purchase that was originally paid for with a credit card. Exceptions: Cash or check purchases over $100 will be refunded in the form of a check processed within 10 business days of return.
Note regarding personal data on returned or exchanged products:
Please remove all personal data from any approved returned or exchanged products. Illini Tech Center is not responsible for any personal data left on or in a returned or exchanged product.
Customer Configured Product:
We are pleased to offer product custom configured to your specifications, and encourage you to review your order carefully. Since the product is built to your specifications the order cannot be changed, modified or cancelled once your order is in production. Full payment deposit is required to place order. Custom configured orders cannot be returned or exchanged unless defective.
Eligible Purchasers - Apple Education Discount
Those eligible to purchase education discounted items from Illini Tech Center’s online store are as follows: Individuals including faculty, staff, students and parents at the following Higher Education institutions; University of Illinois and Parkland College. Students attending, or accepted into University of Illinois or Parkland College are eligible to purchase. Education purchases for individuals are not for institutional purchase or resale. By purchasing an Apple desktop computer, notebook computer, display and/or software from the Illini Tech Center you agree that you are an eligible purchaser, or are purchasing the product on behalf of a qualified education customer.
Purchase Quantity
Faculty, staff and students purchasing Apple products at an education discount will be allowed to purchase the following quantities of product per academic school year:
Desktop: One (1) may be purchased per academic year
Mac mini: One (1) may be purchased per academic year
Notebook: One (1) may be purchased per academic year
Display: A maximum of two (2) may be purchased per academic year
Software: A maximum of two (2) per software title may be purchased per academic year
**The above purchases can be made either online or through your Authorized Campus Reseller. Total product quantities remain the same regardless of where your purchase is made.
Shipping Options
In store pick-up: This option is free on all qualifying products. The Illini Tech Center will contact you as soon as your product arrives and is ready for pick up if it is not available immediately.
Standard Shipping: Products shipped via standard service are normally delivered within three business days after shipment. Illini Tech Center reserves the right to change shipping rates at any time. Orders placed online will be charged a flat rate shipping and handling fee of $9.99.
Remember that these shipping estimates are for time in transit only, and that they do not apply until the product leaves Illini Tech Center’s or partner vendor facilities. As the delivery of your order is beyond Illini Tech Center’s control once your order leaves our facilities, Illini Tech Center cannot assume liability for late deliveries.
Signature is required for most deliveries: Illini Tech Center’s shipments may contain valuable computer equipment. If you will not be at the shipping address to accept delivery of your product, consider shipping the item to an address where someone you trust will be available to sign for your package, or opt to pick up your equipment at the Illini Tech Center (recommended). Once your order has been prepared for shipment or has shipped, we are unable to change the shipping address. Title and risk of loss to all products will pass to you once the product leaves the Illini Tech Center.
Undeliverable Packages: Occasionally packages are returned to Illini Tech Center or partner vendors as undeliverable. When the carrier returns an undeliverable package, please contact Illini Tech Center to make arrangements for reshipment.
Failed Delivery Attempts: Most of Illini Tech Center’s carriers make three attempts to deliver a package. After three delivery attempts, the carrier will return the package to Illini Tech Center or a vendor facility.
Order Processing
The estimated shipment date on your order is based on product availability, payment authorization processing, and warehouse processing time and does not include transit time. Illini Tech Center does not begin payment processing until we receive all relevant information and full payment or a full authorization, in the case of credit cards.
Illini Tech Center will begin payment processing for orders placed on weekends or holidays on the next business day. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.
Your order for in-stock items that are eligible for same-day shipping must be received before 1:00 p.m. CST pending payment processing, for there to be adequate remaining time in the day for your order to be dispatched.
Prices
Your total order price will include the price of the product on the day of shipping plus any applicable sales tax and shipping charges. Illini Tech Center reserves the right to change prices for products displayed at the Illini Tech Center at any time and particularly to correct pricing errors that appear online.
Product Availability
Illini Tech Center makes every effort to ship your product according to the estimated lead times provided by the Illini Tech Center at order confirmation. The estimated lead times are in business days (Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays).
Although Illini Tech Center makes every effort to ship your order according to the lead-time provided, shipping dates may change due to changes in supply. If the lead-time changes, Illini Tech Center will contact you via email and provide a revised shipping estimate.
Illini Tech Center makes every effort to supply you with the products you order, but there may be occasions when Apple confirms orders but learns that it cannot supply the ordered products, either at all or in the quantities ordered. These occasions can include when Illini Tech Center learns that the products no longer are being manufactured or they otherwise become unavailable to Apple or partner vendors. In those circumstances, Illini Tech Center will contact you to inform you and, if you are interested, Illini Tech Center may suggest alternative products that might meet your needs. If you do not wish to order alternative products, Illini Tech Center will cancel your order for products Apple cannot supply and for any other products that you no longer wish to order as a result, and will refund your purchase price for those products.
Product Warranty
All Apple hardware products, including clearance and refurbished products, carry a one-year Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. You may review a copy of the Limited Warranty on new products, including its limitations and exclusions, before you purchase, on Apple's site.
By purchasing at the Illini Tech Center Online, whether you place your order online or by telephone, you acknowledge that you have had an opportunity to review Apple’s warranty terms, have done so to the degree you need to be familiar with them, and you accept their terms and conditions, including the limitations, exclusions, and disclaimers in them.
Non-Apple-branded, third party products are, to the greatest extent permitted by law, sold as-is by the Illini Tech Center, but may be accompanied by their manufacturers’ standard warranties.
Certain state laws do not allow limitations on implied warranties or the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. If these laws apply to you, some or all of the disclaimers, exclusions or limitations may not apply to you, and you might have additional rights.
Products sold through the Illini Tech Center Store that do not bear the Apple Brand name are serviced and supported exclusively by their manufacturers in accordance with any terms and conditions packaged with the products. Apple’s Limited Warranty does not apply to products that are not Apple-branded, even if packaged or sold with Apple products. Please contact the manufacturer directly for technical support and customer service.
Apple Software Licenses
Your use of Apple-branded software is on the terms of the license in effect for the software at the time of purchase. You will be asked to agree to the terms of the applicable license at the time that you install the software or, if your software includes a license that you can read before you break the seal or sticker on the software media packaging, through your act of breaking the software media packaging seal or sticker. You may review examples of some of Apple’s licenses, including limitations, by clicking the link that follows this paragraph. Please be aware, however, that your purchase is subject to the particular license that accompanies the software and you must agree to the terms and conditions of that license when you install the software. That license may differ from the licenses you can review here. Be certain to read the applicable license carefully before you install the software.

When you interact with Illini Tech Center, we may collect personal information relevant to the situation, such as your name, mailing address, phone number, email address, and contact preferences; information about the Apple products you own, such as their serial numbers and date of purchase; and information relating to a support or service issue.
We also collect information for market research purposes such as your occupation and where you use your computer to gain a better understanding of our customers and thus provide more valuable service.
When we disclose your information
Illini Tech Center takes your privacy very seriously. Illini Tech Center does not sell or rent your contact information to other marketers. Children under the age of 13
Illini Tech Center recognizes that parents, guardians, or other adults often purchase our products for family use, including use by minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 for marketing purposes, but because some information is collected electronically, it can appear to be the personal information of the Illini Tech Center purchaser of the product, and will be treated as such by this privacy policy. If a child under 13 submits personal information to Illini Tech Center and we learn that that personal information is the information of a child under 13, we will attempt to delete the information as soon as possible.
