Award Winning

Illini Tech Center has just won a Commitment to Excellence award from Apple. This award program seeks to recognize Apple Authorized Service Providers on a quarterly basis for their accomplishments in the AppleCare Service Excellence program.

Come in today to see how the Knowledge Base can help you with your Mac.

Where to Start?

Schedule an appointment to consult with our trained staff. We are open Monday–Friday 9am–6pm and Saturday 11-5pm (closed Sunday). Please make a reservation online.

What to Bring?

For a Mac issue, bring the computer and any cords or peripherals that are involved in the problem. Please include notes or Apple case numbers regarding the problem and any questions you may have.

What to Expect?

During your appointment the Knowledge Base service assistant will review your case and discuss how to resolve any issues. If a repair is needed, a technician will review your support options with you. You can expect your session to last between 10–20 minutes. The tech may run diagnostics and consult with other customers during this time.

Go through the following pointers to get your iPod up and running again.

1. Connect

All iPods and iPhones are set up through iTunes. First connect your iPod to your computer via USB to configure your music, movies, podcasts, pictures, applications and more.

2. Restart

If your iPod appears to not be responding or is frozen, hold the center button and the menu button at the same time for more than 5 seconds to restart the iPod. In this case, it’s just like a computer. For iPhones and iPod Touches, hold the power and the home button for for more than 5 seconds to force a shutdown.

3. Restore

Still having trouble? Connect your iPod to iTunes and attempt a restore. This will erase all your data from the iPod and set it up as new.

4. Return

If your iPod is still not working and your are covered under the AppleCare Protection Plan, call 1-800-APL-CARE. If you are not, still call, although repairs charges will be assessed.

5. Research

If you are having trouble with your iPod, check Google or another search engine with your symptoms, there is a good chance others are having the same problem and have listed solutions.
